Saint-Emilion - Grand Cru Classé
Tasting, style and flavors:
Château Grand Corbin 2013 is an elegant red wine that is generally characterized by its structure and complexity. Due to the 2013 vintage, it may have firmer tannins and slightly more acidity than warmer vintages. However, with good bottle ageing, it can offer well-balanced aromas and flavours. Red fruit aromas such as cherry, raspberry and strawberry may be present. Notes of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco and sweet spices are also present. On the palate, Château Grand Corbin 2013 may present flavors of ripe red fruit, vanilla, oak and spice. Tannins can be well integrated with an elegant, lingering finish.
Grape varieties:
80% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot provides the structure and softness characteristic of many wines from this region.
Food pairing:
- Grilled or roasted red meats: This wine goes perfectly with dishes such as filet mignon, entrecôte or roast lamb.
- Cheeses: Enjoy with soft or washed-rind cheeses.
- Simmered dishes: Simmered beef or lamb dishes, such as boeuf bourguignon, can also be an excellent choice.
- Mediterranean cuisine: Mediterranean dishes based on tomatoes, herbs and olive oil, such as ratatouille, can be enjoyed with this wine.
Serving temperature:
Château Grand Corbin 2013 should be served at a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius (60 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit) to bring out its aromas and flavors. We recommend decanting for an hour or two before tasting to allow the wine to open up and air out, especially when young. If you plan to keep it for several years, it may benefit from a period of bottle aging to develop its complexity.
