Château Haut Bages Liberal 1990
Pauillac - Grand Cru Rated
Château Haut Bages Libéral has a deep, intense red colour with purple highlights. On the nose, it gives off seductive aromas of ripe black fruit, such as black cherry and blackberry, complemented by subtle notes of cedar, tobacco and leather. These aromas are reminiscent of ripe grapes and oak ageing.
On the palate, this wine is characterised by a well-balanced structure. It is full-bodied, with silky tannins that give it a velvety texture. In terms of flavours, there are black fruits, but also touches of liquorice, black pepper and vanilla, which add complexity to the whole. The finish is long and elegant, with a hint of spice.
When to drink it and how to match it ?
Château Haut Bages Libéral is a wine that can be enjoyed young, but which develops even more as it ages in bottle. Its classic, well-balanced style makes it an ideal choice to accompany dishes such as grilled red meats, mature cheeses or even game dishes.
