From the estate
90/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2022 - 2033
By William Kelley in 2022: "Notions of rich cherries, berries, loamy soil and bitter chocolate prefigure the 2020 St. Romain Combe Bazin, a fairly powerful, lively and refined wine, framed by powdery tannins and lively acids. This bottling from young vines is usually the most immediate red in the range, but in the 2020 vintage it seems to have acquired another dimension of seriousness..."

Facing South-West, the estate's parcel of 30 year old vines is located just above the combe, at 360 metres. The Saint-Romain marl, the brown clay soil and the altitude give these young vines the possibility to express a beautiful balance between minerality and roundness, exuberance of fruit and finesse. This wine is very expressive on the nose and easy to drink on the palate, revealing notes of cranberries and small acidic red fruits. A charming, crisp Pinot that offers a beautiful dimension and immediate pleasure.
