What is ice wine?

At the end of the 18th century, many Austrian and German winegrowers had the misfortune to suffer from incredible early frosts. But it was then that they realised (by chance) that "Ice Wines" could also be produced. The day after the frosts, they pressed the frozen grapes, and the result was there! It was a success

What is the difference between an ice wine and another wine?

The particularity of this ice wine is the sweetness it brings. Its sugar content is balanced although very important. A very intense acidity too. The effect in the mouth is guaranteed, it's an incredible experience. Inside the grape, the sweet juice will only freeze below -7°C. The grape juice already sweetened by the long ripening process will then concentrate even more thanks to the loss of the freezing water
