Comptoir des Millésimes is delighted to introduce you to Jean-Marc Pillot, one of the most talented winemakers in Chassagne-Montrachet. A master in the art of winemaking, he is renowned for his subtle use of wood (30% new barrels) and his constant quest for maturity. Since 2007, all his wines have been sold in bottles, guaranteeing uncompromising quality.
Jean-Marc Pillot's white wines are of rare elegance, offering purity, ripe fruit and superb minerality. As for the reds, they are full-bodied, deep and perfectly balanced after eighteen months of ageing. A meticulous and demanding winemaker, Jean-Marc treats his vines with incomparable care, as if they were his own garden. He ploughs and works the soil all year round, thinning out the leaves and green harvesting in the summer. His wines are neither racked nor heavily sulphured. After barrel ageing, they are now matured in vats for six months, adding even more tension and precision to the estate's style.
