Here is the famous Bretaudeau estate. Find all the most beautiful references of this prestigious estate on Comptoir des Millésimes. This is one of our partner estates, which means that their wines are shipped directly to our cellar after bottling on their estate. The Château reserves us an allocation of their cases of wine each year. So do not hesitate to create an email alert on the Jérome BRETAUDEAU estate in order to be kept informed first of the latest arrivals.
At the beginning of the 90s, after his studies, Jérôme Bretaudeau started as a vineyard manager with Alain Gaubert in Vallet, on a 25 ha estate in conventional viticulture. He stayed there full time for thirteen years. Following this, in 2001, he took over his father's two hectares of vines in Gétigné. The commune, historically a wine-growing commune, saw its vines and winegrowers disappear over the years 80-90. It was without counting on Jérôme: over the years, he took over other parcels and finally settled in 2005 on 6 hectares. The Domaine de Bellevue was born. It now totals 9 ha in four communes: Gétigné (where he is the only winegrower), Cugand (on the other bank of the Sèvre Nantaise river, thus in Vendée), Clisson and Vallet (among the small flagship towns of the wine region).
Today, he is at the head of about ten hectares with the will to offer both Muscadet wines typical of their terroirs and exceptional wines. By dint of curiosity, ingenuity, sharing, talent and hard work, Jérôme Bretaudeau is now recognized as one of the driving forces behind the Muscadet appellation, which is rising from its ashes.
In the heart of Muscadet, he vinifies the local grape variety (Melon de Bourgogne) but also Merlot, Cabernets, Chardonnay, and uses original winemaking techniques (maturing in concrete eggs, amphoras, solera...).
His Muscadet Gaïa and Justice cuvées are absolutely to be tasted as they are a perfect illustration of the exceptional potential of the terroir when worked by a talented winemaker like Jérôme. Not to mention the exceptional Pinot Noir Statera, which gourmet restaurants all over the world and wine lovers are clamoring for ... Discover for yourself the surprising potential of these great Loire wines, powerful and generous, just like the winemaker who made them !
