What is Krug Champagne?

The Krug company was founded in 1843 and since then has specialized in the production of prestige and specialty champagnes. Krug is the only company that still produces all of its champagne in small oak barrels, an essential element in developing Krug's intense bouquet and complex aromas. Today, Henri, Rémi and Olivier Krug, who oversee every stage of production, tasting and blending, represent the 5th and 6th generations.

With long periods of maturation (6-8 years), Krug champagne continues to age gracefully after release, developing an intensely rich nutty taste while remaining remarkably fresh.

The best Krug champagne is Clos du Mesnil, a 100% Chardonnay-based champagne from a small walled vineyard in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. It is one of the greatest Blanc de Blanc champagnes in the world.
