The Château l'Arrosée is a grand cru classé , located on the South Coast of Saint-Emilion.
What are the specificities of Château the Sprinkler?
1868 gave birth to the Grand Cru of Saint-Emilion: Château l'Arrosée. The estate taking its name from a source flowing not far from the Château, was then the property of Pierre Magne, several times minister during the Second Empire and the Third Republic.
Since 2012, the estate has been in the hands of Roger and Jean-Pierre Caille. A duo who do not skimp on efforts to raise their wine to the level of excellence. Efforts characterized by numerous investments in both the cellar and the vineyard.
Located near the Château Ausone, the vineyard occupies 2 terroirs: one very sunny on clayey-limestone soils on the slopes and the other on sandy-limestone soils at the foot of the hillside.
The 9.5 hectare vineyard produces a blended wine composed of:
A wine that offers a tasting reminiscent of the Rive Gauche and the Médoc due to its proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is what makes it so atypical.
The harvest is manual before a very selective sorting of the grapes. They are then placed in thermo-regulated vats before being matured in new barrels for about 15 months. The estate produces an average of 40,000 bottles per year.
The Château l'Arrosée happens to be moderately fruity with notes of black fruits with sweet, polished tannins. A perfect fruit-wood balance, very pleasant on the palate, can be noted.
