Although the vineyard of the Domaine de la Pousse d'Or dates back to the 18th century, the estate has existed since 1964. It is an avant-garde estate that played a decisive role in the development of a new technique for evaporating excess water. Rebalancing the must, which reduces the need for chaptalisation. It is perhaps not surprising to learn, in this respect, that the estate is owned by a consortium of Australian shareholders.

Presentation of Domaine de La Pousse d'Or

La Pousse d'Or is located a few kilometres from Beaune, in the commune of Volnay. The 17 hectares of vines are divided between the communes of Volnay, Pommard and Santenay, each producing distinctive and elegant wines. Domaine Pousse d'Or is one of the most recognized names in Burgundy. Originally called Bousse d'Or, this estate has undergone enormous changes in recent decades. Under Gerard Potel's direction for 30 years, the house has established its style and brand quality. In 1997, it was bought by Patrick Landanger, an electromechanical engineer who succeeded in improving the vineyard and the cellar. He built a new gravity-flow winery and invested in state-of-the-art equipment.
