Bandol red is mainly made from Mourvèdre, the appellation's dominant grape variety. This variety produces powerful wines, rich in color and aroma, with robust tannins. Mourvèdre brings notes of ripe black fruit, spices, leather and garrigue, giving Bandol red an interesting aromatic complexity.
TASTING:
- When tasted, Domaine de la Tour du Bon Bandol reds are often deep and intense. On the nose, aromas of black cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, licorice and black pepper can be detected, along with hints of Mediterranean garrigue, such as thyme and rosemary.
- On the palate, the wine is structured and powerful, with well-presented tannins that give it a certain robustness. Black fruit flavors blend harmoniously with spices and garrigue notes, creating a complex, balanced palette. The finish is generally long and persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate.
