What are the specificities of Château Latour-Martillac ?
The production of Château Latour-Martillac is a family savoir-faire. Today and since the 1800s, the estate has been in the hands of the Kressman family and it is Loïc (technical management) and Tristan (general administration) Kressman who manage the estate with brio nowadays. A family tradition that gives birth to an elegant, harmonious wine, of a beautiful density with an exceptional purity of fruit.
The 45-hectare Pessac Léognan vineyard is located on perfect gravelly hilltops on the Martillac plateau, a remarkable terroir. The Château Latour-Martillac has everything you would expect from a great Bordeaux.
The vines offer a wine tasting composed of different grape varieties for its great red wine:
Today, the vineyard also produces a white wine and devotes 10 of its hectares to the planting of the following Bordeaux white grape varieties:
After manual harvesting and vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats, the wine is aged in 35% new barrels for 18 to 20 months. The estate's annual production is around 150,000 bottles.
In the quest for excellence and in order to best express its terroir, the selection of grapes is very strict and the least good vintages are thus destined for the second wine of the Château, "Lagrave-Martillac".
