Chardonnay vines pruned to single Guyot. These 37 acres were planted in 1973.

Located on the heights of Chassagne-Montrachet and on the hillside, this climat is classified among the best 1er Cru of the appellation. This small enclave of great renown is set on a steep slope, with a subsoil of limestone rock, but with sufficient depth of soil to grow vines. 

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Once pressed, the grape juice is fermented in French oak barrels with a proportion of 30 percent new barrels. Then the wine matures in this noble wood until the following summer. Thus, after several months of aging, the wine will improve and assert its personality.

The wine is bottled in the cellar after 15 months of maturation.

The vine and more particularly the Chardonnay gives here its letters of nobility. The wine is complex, fat and balanced by a subtle minerality. It reaches its fullness only after 4 or 5 years of maturity. It opens up with fine and complex aromas of flowers, dried fruits and honey.
