Buy wine : Saumur Blanc 2011 - Domaine du Collier
Great Loire wine
92/100 Parker
Peak / ageing potential: 2021 - 2026
Tasting notes by Stephan Reinhardt: "Antoine Foucault's 2011 Saumur Blanc opens with a concentrated, intensely aromatic bouquet, almost tropical in its fruit flavours. Pure, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a refreshing, mineral and textured Chenin with a saline, vital finish. Chalky and salty like a Fino."
About the cuvée:
The white Saumur from Domaine du Collier reveals delicious aromas of white fruit, particularly apple, as well as floral notes. On the palate, it is characterised by its sobriety, remarkable freshness, distinct minerality and density of substance. This wine is perfect with white meats and fish.
Domaine du Collier, founded by Nady Foucault's son, Clos Rougeard :
In 1999, Antoine Foucault and his wife Caroline Boireau created Domaine du Collier, a business they built from scratch. Antoine comes from a prestigious family that used to own Clos Rougeard, an iconic wine estate in the region. He is the son of Charly and the nephew of Nady Foucault.
