- When to drink this wine? Now to 2032.
- Tasting in 2022: "If you are looking for the ultimate in white Burgundy, this is one of your serious options. Montrachet is synonymous with richness and finesse, and that's exactly what sets this wine apart. So graceful, despite the imposing concentration. Long, very silky and refined finish. To drink or to keep."
THE DOMAIN SPEAKS ABOUT IT:
- Description: The Montrachet Grand Cru covers just 8 hectares between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. This place was called "Mont Rachas" in the 13th century, the Rache in the Burgundian dialect, was a disease that could cause hair loss. Indeed, on this very stony "Mont Chauve", only thorny bushes grew until the vine was planted. The Montrachet terroir is a notable exception, as its brown soils, usually reserved for Pinot Noir, here transform Chardonnay into one of the world's greatest white wines. The eastern exposure allows the sun to shine late in the evening. These factors are essential for optimal ripeness. Our grapes come from a 0.80 hectare parcel that stretches from the top to the bottom of the hillside, in the centre of the northern part of Montrachet, located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet.
