Order Château Lynch Bages 2019
Pauillac - 5ème Grand Cru Classé
96-97/100 James Suckling & (95 - 97)+/100 Parker
Cellaring : 2025 - 2055
Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown on July 9, 2021 : "Displaying a deep garnet-purple colour, the 2019 Lynch-Bages needs some coaxing to awaken its seductive scents of black currant pellets, warm black cherries, boysenberries, and baker's chocolate, plus hints of lilac, forest floor, iron ore, and charcoal with a spicy touch of cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with layers of rich, ripe dark fruit, framed by firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, and finishes long and earthy. It's incredibly exciting to see how Lynch-Bages' personality has gained focus and depth over the past 10-15 years, thanks in part to what seems like efforts to support the mid-palate with just a bit more ripeness while taming and refining the tannins, allowing all those beautiful nuances among what wants to be a powerful fruit core to really shine. This 2019 is an extraordinary expression that I suspect may well reveal even more layers by the time it is bottled."
