Tasting by Stephan Reinhardt in 2022: ‘The Burlenberg “La Colline brûlée” 2019 offers a fascinating bouquet, deep, pure, precise and concentrated yet energetic with notes of flint and smoke, even crystalline. Full-bodied, rich and very elegant on the palate, this is a powerful but very stimulating Pinot, juicy, saline and greedy with fine, ripe tannins and a lovely clear, cleansing acidity that represents not only the marly limestone but also the more lively and edgy influence of the upper schist and volcanic part of the cru in Bergheim.
