Château of Miraval is a château-bastide of Provencal style from the 17th century, a 400 hectare estate with pine forest, an olive grove and a 30 hectare vineyard in Correns, in the Var in Provence. It has been owned by the American couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie since 2008.
How was this estate born?
The huge Miraval wine cellar was built in 1850 by Joseph-Louis Lambot. The cellar is managed by the winemaker Marc Perrin. Marc produces a wide range of red, white and rosé wines. The rosé wines are by far the most popular. In 2020 it was revealed that a champagne would be launched in collaboration with Rodolphe Péters.
The Péters family has been operating in the Champagne region since 1919 and produces champagne of the highest quality. Péters and Perrin have enjoyed a strong relationship for many years. Their shared passion for wine has resulted in a unique collaboration. After five years of research, dedication and development, the Fleur de Miraval Rosé champagne was finally born. The project managed to stay under the radar all this time, until this great news appeared in 2020.
The famous cuvée
Fleur de Miraval Rosé is made from 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. The addition of pinot noir gives the champagne a pink colour, a nod to Provence. The champagne ages for three years in the bottle in the cellar. This long ageing in the bottle ensures a fine, well-integrated bubble. The bottle is completely laid down to protect the champagne from daylight.
Fleur de Miraval is a promise of luxury, elegance and quality. The rosé champagne is very exclusive, as only 20,000 bottles are produced.
