Looking for bottles of Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1959 ?
Grand cru classé of Grave
100/100 Parker: Rare wine, exceptional vintage.
When to drink this wine? Now.
Tasted by Parker in 1994: "Even allowing for the greatness of Haut-Brion and Mouton-Rothschild, La Mission 1955 is the 'wine of the vintage'. It has a sweet nose of citron, clove, smoke and black raspberry, and rich, full-bodied, remarkably harmonious flavours that ooze ripe fruit, glycerin and heady alcohol. The tannins have completely melted away and the wine shows significant rust around the edges, so the 1955 is unlikely to improve with longer cellaring. There are no signs of brittleness or decline, so this wine can safely be drunk for another 10-15 years. This is a stunning, complex and superbly balanced La Mission-Haut-Brion!"
