Grand cru classé of Grave
100/100 Parker: Rare wine, exceptional vintage.
When to drink it ? : Now.
Tasted by Parker in 1998: "One of the greatest 1961s, La Mission-Haut-Brion was fabulous to drink. If stored well, this wine will continue to drink for 10-20 years. It is more developed and easier to drink than the 1959, but it is still a thick, rich, very aromatic wine, with a classic Graves bouquet of tobacco, grilled meat, minerals, spices and sweet red and black fruits. It is dense, full-bodied, alcoholic and very rich. This sweet, opulently textured wine is fabulous to drink. Absolutely magnificent! "
