Château Montrose 1991
Saint-Estèphe -2ème Grand Cru Classé
General characteristics of the Vintage
A year that will be remembered as the year of the spring frosts. Indeed, after a favourable end of February for the early budding of the vines, a terrible frost during the night of April 20 to 21 wiped out an already well developed vegetation in the Bordeaux region. However, Montrose's unique terroir benefits from exceptional climatic conditions. The proximity of the river allows it to enjoy frost-free temperatures. The production of Château Montrose, in 1991, is almost normal.
July and August were very hot and dry and the harvest conditions were hot but rainy.
