Château Montrose 2002
Saint-Estèphe - 2ème Grand Cru Classé
92/100 Wine Spectator
Cellaring: 2017 - 2027
Tasting notes : "This is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, harvested from September 30 to October 12. Here it has a deep, healthy colour. So far, so good. The nose is initially quite closed and perhaps even gruff, reluctantly offering aromas of blackberry, charcoal and sandalwood. The palate is masculine, aloof, structured but without the usual charm of this Saint-Estephe, with a slight dusting on the finish."
Château Montrose : Made mostly from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon from the "plateau", this wine, the signature of a unique terroir, combines tannic power, finesse and elegance. Recognized for its exceptional ageing capacity, its structure with precise tannins develops a delicate and complex bouquet with age.
