Château Montrose 2007
Saint-Estèphe -2nd Grand Cru Rated
92/100 Parker
Cellaring potential: Drink now through 2035.
Tasting note: "The 2007 Montrose has a crisp, earthy, tobacco-scented bouquet, with sage and clove developing in the glass. Clearly a Saint-Estephe determined to succeed in an off-vintage, which this estate knows how to do brilliantly. The palate holds grainy tannins. This was a compact bottle for this vintage, one of the few 2007s worth decanting. However, there is undeniably a lot of freshness and a welcome touch of spice towards the finish. Linear in style, this is one of the few 2007s that should improve with bottle age. Tasted in February 2017.
Château Montrose : Made mostly from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon from the "plateau", this wine, the signature of a unique terroir, combines tannic power, finesse and elegance. Recognized for its exceptional ageing capacity, its structure with precise tannins develops a delicate and complex bouquet with age.
