Château Mouton Rothschild 1988
Pauillac - Premier Grand Cru Rated
92/100 Wine Spectator
Tasting Note : "Very pretty aromas of vanilla, tobacco, berry and chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied, with soft tannins and a berry, chocolate finish. Not very dense. This pales compared with the other top Pauillacs. I never thought this was a perfect wine, but it gives great pleasure. Drink now." JS
1988 Mouton Rothschild Label by KEITH HARING
"Born in Pennsylvania, American painter and sculptor Keith Haring (1958-1990) became one of the most prominent creators in New York's "East Village" during the 1980s. He escaped the elitism of the galleries by his interventions in the urban environment: graffiti in the subway, a panel in Time Square where the "Radiant Child" appears, which will be his emblem: a compact silhouette, as if drawn with a marker, and surrounded by rays which, in the language of comics, signify surprise or wonder. Haring defined himself, modestly, as a "maker of 20th century images". He is also, humor and tragedy combined, a poet of our time.
A mischievous variation on the theme of dancing rams, his drawing for the 1988 vintage is perhaps also ironically inspired by the official coat of arms of Château Mouton Rothschild."
