Château Mouton Rothschild 1991
Pauillac - Premier Grand Cru Classé
TASTING NOTES
When to drink this wine? Drink it now. Great wine at maturity
Tasting : The 1991 has a ruby/purple colour, and a promising and complex nose of classic Pauillac aromas such as lead pencil, roasted nuts and ripe blackcurrant.
ART AND LABEL : - SETSUKO
Born in Japan in 1942, from an old Samurai family, Setsuko received a Western education while learning the traditional arts of her country: music, poetry, shimai dance.
Setsuko's paintings are mainly composed of "still lifes". And yet, the objects that inhabit it seem to live and move, a bit like the teapot in "L'Enfant et les Sortilèges"... Setsuko recomposes these objects line by line, polishes them, colours them, becoming in turn the craftsman who created them, and bringing grace and harmony to our daily lives, in the tradition of the artists from her country. The acuity of the eye, the sharpness of the line, the meticulousness of the drawing, the absence of shadow and almost of perspective thus create a perfectly smooth and serene universe, out of the reach of men, sheltered from their space and their time.
For the label of Mouton Rothschild 1991, Setsuko tells the eternal story of wine in her own way: the bunch of grapes was first a flower, then a fruit; then, as generous as an ear of wheat, it delivered its grains to the grape-pickers; finally, the long-awaited outcome, the well-filled carafe and the pleasure of drinking.
