Château Palmer 2005
Margaux - 3rd Grand Cru Rated
97/100 Parker: Great vintage
Tasting by Neal Martin: “Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, the 2005 Château Palmer is a legend in the making. Apparently, the vines received 57% less rain than average, but the 2005 suffers no water deficiency and has given birth to a wonderfully pixelated bouquet, where minerality shines through black cherry and blueberry. Further investigation reveals graphite veins that give this wine a Pauillac allure. The palate is medium-bodied and intense, but not overpowering. This Margaux is galvanized by a solid backbone, enabling it to age over the long term. The symmetry of this wine is fascinating - a 2005 destined for greatness. The only question is whether it will surpass the Palmer 2009 or 2010. It will be fun to find out.”
