Oro 2004 - Domaine Peyre Rose
Coteaux du Languedoc
It is composed mainly of Rolle, with a mixture of Roussanne, Viognier, Terret, Clairette, and most probably other obscure and indegenous cepages. Garrigue herbs, roasted walnuts, quince and mirabelle plum distillate inhabit a pungent, colourful, slightly but not unpleasantly oxidised nose. On the palate, it combines a nutty, faintly spirituous pungency with a surprising amount of primary sap, leading to a memorable herbaceous, honeyed, stony, resinous finish. Drink now.
