Order wine : Chinon Côteau de Noiré 2022 in Magnum - Philippe Alliet
Loire - Chinon from the estate
(94-96)/100 Parker
Cellaring : 2025 - 2055
Tasting by Yohan Castaing : ” Already in barrel, the Chinon Coteau de Noiré 2022, from a steep south-facing slope of clay and limestone, is one of the most impressive and refined wines I've tasted at this address. Evoking a complex, elegant bouquet of spice, pencil lead, licorice, dark wild berries and cedar, it is full-bodied, ample and enveloping with a textured attack, a layered, fleshy core of fruit structured around soft, powdery tannins and bright acids, finishing with a long, mineral, ethereal finish. It could evolve gracefully and more harmoniously with time in the cellar.”
Philippe Alliet's Chinon Côteau de Noiré is one of the Chinon appellation's most emblematic cuvées. Made from Cabernet Franc vines carefully cultivated on clay-limestone slopes, this wine embodies the elegance and depth of the great terroirs of the Loire. Its complex nose combines ripe black fruit, subtle spices and a touch of minerality. On the palate, its structure is both rich and harmonious, with fine tannins and freshness that promise excellent ageing potential. This wine reflects Philippe Alliet's expertise and passion for magnifying his terroir. A must for lovers of wines with character.
