Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2002
Pauillac - Second Grand Cru Rated
94/100 Parker
Cellaring : This wine is best drunk now, or cellared until 2025.
Robert Parker's 2005 tasting notes : "One of the vintage's finest wines, this classic Pauillac is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. Dense ruby/purple-colored, with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, good definition, and a 1996-like personality. This deep, full-bodied, elegant, yet powerful 2002 should age beautifully for over two decades. It will require some patience as this vintage exhibits more muscle and virility than usual."
