Direct from the estate
The estate tells you:
-
This champagne comes from old Meunier vines planted in 1963, located on the northern slopes below the Montagne de Reims.
-
It comes from the Les Dessus de Monthouzon terroir, a terroir characterized by a thin layer of clay resting directly on chalk, giving the wine a saline yet complex expression of the grape variety.
-
The Taissy cuvée was aged in barrels, then corked for secondary fermentation. It then rested on its lees for four and a half years before being disgorged.

More information:
The Taissy 1er Cru Meunier Vieilles Vignes Millésimé cuvée from Champagne Pierre Paillard is a rare and vibrant expression of Meunier, produced from old vines cultivated as Premier Crus on the Taissy terroir. This vintage champagne seduces with its authenticity and distinguished character: the Meunier grape variety reveals all its complexity, between notes of ripe fruit, candied citrus and a subtle floral touch. The palate, ample and elegant, is distinguished by a beautiful mineral tension and a saline finish that faithfully reflects the chalky soil of the Montagne de Reims. A confidential bottle, for lovers of terroir champagnes with strong personality.
