Here is the famous Pol Roger Champagne Estate. Find all the best references of this prestigious domain on Comptoir des Millésimes. This is one of our partner estates, which means that their wines are shipped directly to our cellar following their bottling in their estate. The winemakers reserve an allocation of their cases of wine for us each year. So don't hesitate to create an email alert (in the My Alerts section) on the Maison Pol Roger in order to be the first to know about the latest arrivals.

The Pol Roger Champagne House is one of the last to remain family-owned and independent. It has the particularity to be very well established on the English market. Pol Roger champagnes are served at the table of the royal family of England and especially during major events such as weddings.
It is one of the most famous champagne houses. It is not huge, and much of its grapes come from its own vineyards: its 93 hectares of vines are enough to cover half of its needs. We visited the house with the charismatic and slightly flamboyant Hubert de Billy one day in early March.
Pol Roger was founded in 1849. Pol Roger was the son of a notary from Aÿ. He lived next door to Bollinger, and decided to produce champagne at home to sell to other producers. Over time, some of his friends told him that his wine was very good and that he should sell it under his own name, De Billy says. Aÿ was already overcrowded - the streets are very small and it was always enclosed between the vineyard and the canal. At the end of the 19th century, before the train came, Aÿ was the same size as Épernay.' So Pol Roger moved to Épernay, where he is now. Today, Pol Roger has 54 employees. A century ago, there were 300 employees, who made much less wine. We're big enough with 54 people," he adds. We do the riddling by hand. So we could save five people, but that's not our philosophy.
