Tasting notes:
Jean-Marc Boillot's Beaune 1er Cru "Épenottes" is an elegant, fruity and complex Burgundian red wine, ideal for accompanying a variety of dishes, particularly those that highlight traditional French cuisine. Served at the right temperature, this is a wine that can offer a rich and enjoyable tasting experience. Brilliant and energetic! Tart blackberry and slightly bitter roasted nuts accompany saline and meaty notes to a satisfyingly juicy finish. The tannins are less stubborn than in the Montrevenots, despite the wine's riper overall appearance. Drink young.
Grape variety :
Beaune 1er Cru "Épenottes" is mainly produced from the Pinot Noir grape variety, which is the emblematic red grape variety of Burgundy. Pinot Noir gives the wine its distinctive characteristics of finesse, delicate aromas and complexity.
Food and wine pairing :
This Beaune 1er Cru wine is an excellent companion for many dishes, especially traditional Burgundian fare:
- Roast poultry or poultry in a light sauce
- Game birds (e.g. pigeon or partridge)
- Fillet of beef with mushrooms
- Soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert
- Dishes with wild mushrooms
- Dishes with truffles
- It is important to note that the delicacy of this wine makes it suitable for dishes that are not too powerful, so as not to mask its subtleties.
Serving temperature :
Beaune 1er Cru "Épenottes" should be served at an ideal drinking temperature, generally between 16 and 18°C. This will allow the wine to express itself fully while maintaining its freshness and balance.
