Beaune 1er Cru Les Theurons 2016 - Louis jadot
Great Bourgogne estate - Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot
90/100 Parker
When to drink this wine : 2020 - 2036
Tasted by William Kelley in 2019: "The 2016 Beaune 1er Cru Les Theurons (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) offers an attractive bouquet of ripe cherries, blackcurrants, ripe citrus and wood smoke. On the palate, it's quite powerful, fleshy and succulent, with a full core of fruit, satiny tannins and vibrant acidity, and finishes well delineated and mouthwatering. This is an elegant and charming Beaune that will be worth keeping in bottle for at least a few years and offers ample opportunity for drinking."
- Serving: 16-17 C°
- Grape variety : Pinot Noir
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The Beaune vineyard, located between Savigny les Beaune to the north and Pommard to the south, is the largest in the Côte de Beaune. There are no Grands Crus in this commune, but 36 Premiers Crus.
CHARACTERISTICS
The vineyard of Beaune is almost totally located on the slope, and therefore benefits from a large classification of its climates as Premier Crus, including Les Theurons. This climate is made up of several parcels and separates the northern and southern Premier Crus. Facing south-east, it rests on marl soils which are compact, hard and difficult to work.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION
The grapes, characterized by very black berries, are destemmed and vinified in open vats for about 4 weeks, thus fully revealing all the subtlety of this terroir. After devatting, the wines are placed in oak barrels in our cellars and aged for 18 months.
