Louis Latour Wines From the estate
90/100 Wine Spectator
Tasting note by BS in 2015: This expressive red exudes flavors of candied cherry, strawberry, spice and minerals. The structure is firm, showing balance and a long finish.
Cellaring: Now to 2029.
Description : "The 180 hectares of vineyards in the small village of Chambolle-Musigny are a sweet interlude in the range of the famous vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. Chambolle-Musigny has 24 premier crus in addition to its famous grand crus, Bonnes Mares and Musigny. "Les Chatelots" refers to the Latin word "Castellum" which means "water reservoir, water tower". Thus, this name may have been given because the land retained the water that rushed in when the Grône (a river) overflowed. This limestone soil is known for producing delicately perfumed and very harmonious wines.
