From the estate
90/100 Wine Spectator
Cellaring : Now to 2030.
Tasted by BS in 2014: "A densely textured red, displaying concentrated flavors of cherry, raspberry, spice, earth and briar. A bit chewy at the end, with enough ripe fruit. Best from 2017 to 2030." - BS
Fermentation : Traditional in open vats
Ageing : 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, 35% new
Barrels : Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting note: This Grand Cru has a beautiful garnet colour and a distinct nose filled with aromas of leather, spicy fruit and oak. On the palate, this bold wine, with balanced acidity and tannin, explodes with cherry, candied fruit and vanilla flavours, all complemented by notes of leather and oak. An impressive and powerful wine.
Food pairing : Wild boar - roast beef - roast quail - duck with orange sauce - mature cheeses.
