Meursault 1er cru 2007 Genevrières - Louis Latour
Description : Located just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the largest white wine commune in the southern part of the Côte d'Or. The perfect southeast exposure and the stony, pebbly soils contribute to the remarkable finesse of Meursault wines. "Genevrières" comes from "juniper", a shrub with prickly needles and purple berries that thrives on the limestone soils of Burgundy. Many juniper trees were replaced by vines as a number of the names of the climates recall. The Meusault 1er Cru "Genevrières" is an excellent example of a great Burgundy Chardonnay.
Fermentation : Traditional in oak barrels, 100% malolactic
Maturing : 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new
Barrels : Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting: Pale yellow in color, the Meursault Genevrières offers a floral nose with notes of fresh almond and vanilla. The palate is full and straightforward with notes of lemon, almond and brioche. Nice mineral length.
Food and wine pairing: Chicken with cream sauce - skate with black butter - risotto with white truffles - Epoisses
