Nuits St Georges 1er cru Les Vaucrains 2013 - Louis jadot
Custody: 2023 - 2035
Tasted by Neal Martin on December 30, 2016 : "The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains has much more personality and charm than the NSG Les Boudots, with hearty red cherry and kirsch flavors, blood orange notes developing over time in the glass. The palate is well balanced, with supple, tart red cherries, a pleasant spiciness and a concentrated, fairly taut finish that just needs to develop a bit more length. Nevertheless, this is a classy Nuits Saint-Georges."

CHARACTERISTICS
Above Grand Saint Georges is a very marked climate. The soils of the Premiers Crus are mainly composed of limestone and marl, and their perfect exposure to the East allows the production of superb wines.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then carefully sorted by hand and destemmed. Maceration of the grapes takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for 3 to 4 weeks. The vats are pumped over twice a day during fermentation. The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, about one third of which are new.
