Nuits St Georges 2016 - Bouchard Père et Fils
Nuits St Georges 2016 - Bouchard Père et Fils
93/100 James Suckling
Intense bouquet with aromas of berries and spices. Rich and tannic, with a good structure. Gains in roundness after a few years' bottle ageing. Excellent ageing potential. Serve between 17 and 18°C.
Capital of the Côte de Nuits, this village is home to the Hospices de Nuits, which organizes a major auction of its production every year, in the image of the Hospices de Beaune. As for the main street of Nuits-Saint-Georges, it is dedicated to Fagon, the doctor who treated Louis XIV by prescribing him the town's wine. This appellation, the southernmost of the Côte de Nuits, produces wines of great tannic richness, which gives them power, depth and a solid ageing potential, ranging from five to fifteen years.
