Puligny Montrachet 1er cru 1996 - Louis Latour
From the estate
Tasting : The nose of this wine is fine and refined with notes of exotic fruits and verbena. The mouth is lively and mellow at the same time, all in elegance. The finish is supple and shows a good capacity of ageing.
Description: A favorite terroir for some of the world's best Chardonnay, including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet is an appellation area of 216 ha, bordered by Meursault to the north and Chassagne-Montrachet to the south. Because a large number of Puligny-Montrachet's 1er Crus share the same soil type and exposure as their Grand Cru neighbors, these wines deserve special attention. Maison Louis Latour rigorously selects the 1st growths that make up this wine, choosing only those whose degree of maturity remains constant over the years.
