Puligny Montrachet 1er cru 2017 Sous le puits - Louis Latour
90/100 Parker
Description : A favorite terroir for some of the world's best Chardonnays, including the famous Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet is an appellation area of 216 ha, bordered by Meursault to the North and Chassagne-Montrachet to the South. Facing south-east, Puligny-Montrachet "Sous le Puits" is located at the top of the hill of Blagny, just above "La Garenne". "Puits" comes from "puis" in old French and could designate springs, which suggests the presence of a spring in this place.
Fermentation : Traditional in oak barrels, 100% malolactic
Aging : 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% new
Barrels : Tonnellerie Louis Latour, French oak, medium toast
Tasting : With its pale gold color, our Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Sous le Puits" 2017 reveals an elegant nose composed of citrus and melon aromas, and enhanced by notes of hazelnut. The mouth is round and rich. Nice vivacity.
Food and wine pairing : Bresse poultry - foie gras - salmon with fennel and lemon - cheese
