Puligny Montrachet 1er cru Champ Gain 2022 - Faiveley
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE APPELLATION
In 1879, Puligny added to its name the name of its most famous Grand Cru: Montrachet. Puligny-Montrachet has exceptional terroirs for Chardonnay. The 10 hectare "Champ Gain" climate is located just below "La Garenne", on the heights of the wine-growing hillside. The name of this parcel would mean "gain of land over the forest". The estate has been the owner on this climate since the 2014 vintage.

VINIFICATION & MATURING
The grapes are cut and sorted by hand. The must is extracted using a pneumatic press and then settled. For 4 weeks, the vinification is carried out in French oak barrels (40-50% of which are new) in our cellars at natural and constant humidity and temperature. Regularly stirred to put the lees back into suspension, the wine is aged in barrels for 17-18 months. It thus retains a beautiful tension and great aromatic complexity, while offering a delicate and silky mouthfeel.
TASTING
The nose is charming by its character, both subtle and bewitching, with citrus and exotic fruit scents blending with light grilled notes. It offers a full and balanced mouth between unctuousness and mineral tension. A harmonious wine, with a beautiful aromatic persistence.
