Order wines Chateauneuf du Pape 2022 Cuvée Impériale en Magnum - Domaine Raymond Usseglio
Directly from the wine estate Usseglio
(96-98)/100 Parker
Tasting by Joe Czerwinski: ‘The 2022 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Impériale, tasted in vat, offers up aromas of rose petals, garrigue, ripe cherry and red raspberry. It is a full-bodied, tannic wine, concentrated yet light, airy and refreshing, with a long, lingering finish. A great wine from vines over a hundred years old’.
When to drink this wine : 2025 - 2040
- 90 % GRENACHE
- 10% BLEND OF OLD GRAPE VARIETIES
- The Cuvée Imperiale is the wine made from the oldest vines on the estate, most of which are a hundred years old (planted in 1901-1902). The yields are extremely low (16-18hl/ha) guaranteeing a dense and deep wine. The old Grenache vines bring their finesse and elegance to this wine, which can be aged for decades. If you wish to taste this wine before its first 2-3 years of ageing, you should decant it. Unfiltered wine, please excuse a possible natural deposit that is beneficial to the aging of the wine.
