Rivesaltes 1977 - Domaine Casenobe
90/100 Parker
Cellaring: 2017 - 2030
Tasted by Neal Martin in 2017 : "The 1977 Rivesaltes from Domaine de la Casenobe, which was bottled around 2013-2014, has a deep tawny hue. Philippe Gayral had little information about it although he speculated that it includes more white than black grapes. The estate itself stopped making wine in the late 1980s. The bouquet is wonderful: very harmonious and quite intense, scents of tangerine, orange peel, wax resin - quite sappy and perhaps more earthy than other Rivesaltes. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a nice touch of bitterness from the orange peel and marmalade notes."
