Rivesaltes 1990 - Riveyrac - Philippe Gayral
Style : Natural sweet wine
Garde : Can be drunk now or kept in the cellar.
Provenance : This wine comes from the vats of the domain (bought by Mr Gayral, specialist in natural sweet wine). Recently bottled.
Tasting : A blend of 60% red grapes and 40% white grapes : a mature tawny color to the core. Its nose is lively and oxidative, like a fiery and fluid Madeira, in transition between the Verdelho and the Bual. The palate is very smooth and much less heavy than one might expect (in fact, this is probably the easiest Riveyrac to drink). Great flavors of mint and peppery notes on the finish (and ginger on the aftertaste), very fresh. Very elegant.
