Domaine Roc des Anges' Cuvée Australe is a parcel-based cuvée made from a massal selection of Serine, a very old Syrah variety from Saint Joseph. The vines were planted in 2001, when Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet arrived. It took 14 years for Serine to acclimatise and adapt to this terroir, which is very different from that of the Rhône Valley. Today, it's fair to say that bringing back this vineyard was one of the wisest decisions the couple ever made.
