2 produits

What is the style of a Gigondas from the 2019 year?
Gigondas wines are often described as rich, fleshy and structured. They are generally fuller-bodied than wines produced in the neighbouring appellation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Tasting notes:
Gigondas wines can display a wide range of aromas, including ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, black fruits such as blackberry and plum, spices such as black pepper and Provençal herbs, as well as notes of garrigue, liquorice and leather.
What temperature should I serve a Gigondas from the 2019 year?
To fully appreciate the characteristics of Gigondas wines, we recommend serving them at a temperature of between 16°C and 18°C.
Grape varieties :
Gigondas wines are generally made from two main grape varieties:
- Grenache: This is often the predominant grape in the blend, providing roundness, red fruit and a certain warmth on the palate.
- Syrah: This variety brings black fruit aromas, spicy notes and structure to the wine.
- Other grape varieties can also be used in smaller proportions, such as Mourvèdre or Cinsault, to add complexity to the blend.
Food and wine pairing :
Gigondas goes well with a variety of dishes because of its body and richness. Here are a few food and wine pairing suggestions:
- Provençal cuisine: Traditional dishes from the region, such as daube provençale, ratatouille or grilled lamb, go well with Gigondas wines.
- Mediterranean cuisine: Dishes based on tomatoes, Provençal herbs and black olives, such as bouillabaisse or tapenade, are good accompaniments.
- Cheeses: Aged cheeses, such as Comté, aged Gouda or Cheddar, go well with these wines.
