- Opinion : Coming mainly from the Gervans region, Barruol's Crozes Hermitage has peppery, slightly ashy aromas, as well as notes of black olives and blackberries. It is silky and fine, with a touch of licorice on the finish.
THE DOMAIN TELLS YOU ABOUT IT
100% Serine (old syrah). Destemmed harvest. Granitic soils. Aged for twelve months: 20% in new barrels - 40% in barrels of one wine - 40% in barrels of two wines. Coming from the most beautiful vineyards of the hillsides of Larnage, Erôme and Gervans, our Crozes-Hermitage is often closer to a Hermitage than to a Crozes of the plain. Remember that the hillsides represent only 20% of the appellation. Syrah takes on a different face depending on the terroir in which it is grown. The "marker" of Crozes-Hermitage is obviously the intensity of the fruit. This always gives it a dimension of pleasure and "appetence". Having good bottles of Crozes Hermitage in your cellar is therefore essential if you have any desire for immediate pleasure.
