Château Clauzet 2009
Saint-Estephe - Cru Bourgeois
- The cuvée: This Saint-Estèphe is distinguished by its elegance, structure and power, with well-integrated tannins thanks to the ageing process. The Château Clauzet cuvée is made up of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.
- Vinification process : Situated in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Clauzet extends over 23 hectares of deep gravel, ideal for growing the red grape varieties of the Left Bank. The vines, which are over 40 years old, produce a yield of 40 hl/ha, with grapes harvested at optimum ripeness and carefully sorted by hand. Each plot is vinified in temperature-controlled vats, and the wine is matured in oak barrels, 30-40% of which are new, with the remainder being single-vineyard barrels.
- Food and wine pairings: Perfect with red meats, dishes in sauce, game birds, poultry and strong cheeses.
