Château Saint Pierre 2019
Grand cru classé de Saint Julien
Rating: (94 - 96)+/100 Parker
- Tasted by Lisa Perrotti-Brown in 2020: "A very deep purple-black color, the 2019 St. Pierre emerges from the glass with vibrant scents of black and red currants, black raspberries, and crushed boysenberries, with hints of lavender, plowed earth, pencil shavings, and camphor, as well as a hint of red roses. The medium-bodied palate is loaded with energy, with dense, muscular black and red fruits, a solid framework of ripe, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, for a long, mineral finish. Make no mistake, this estate is on a roll.
When to drink this wine?
- To be drunk after a few years in the cellar - Estimated: 2027 to 2040+.
- Created in the 17th century, this 4th Grand Cru Classé was divided up and dispersed after several successions. By luck and tenacity, in 1982, Henri Martin was able to reconstitute the property as it was known in 1855, the year of the famous classification. Since then, and thanks to the investment of the owners, Saint-Pierre is recognized by all as being a par fact representative of the Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Julien.
