The Domaine Saint-Préfert, owned by Isabel Ferrando, was created in 1930 by Fernand Serre, is a wine estate located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in Vaucluse. It extends over 21 hectares on a terroir of galets roulés, a stony, porous and filtering soil that allows the vine to take deep roots. The Domaine Saint-Préfert is in the process of converting to organic farming.
This prestigious estate was founded in 1920 with the great owner, Fernand Serre, who was a pharmacist in Avignon. He obtained this 80 ha property and gave it his name at the time. He was one of the first wine producers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape to market his wine in bottles, around 1930. He was a very important factor in the reputation of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC.
