Salon is a unique champagne. Defined by its singularity since the very beginning: originally, this exceptional wine is the champagne of one man, Aimé Salon, is of a single terroir, the Côte des Blancs, from a single vintage, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, from a single grape variety, Chardonnay, from a single year, without any blending.
Born in 1911 with a first vintage of 1905, Salon champagne is the creation of a man, in love with champagne and entirely seduced by the Mesnil terroir. Following an unwavering ambition, Aimé Salon, a singular personality, knew how to invent the champagne of his desires: an unprecedented Blanc de Blancs, initially shaped for his personal pleasure, he only shared his creation with the world from the 1920s onwards.
This champagne comes from the one hectare plot, "le Jardin de Salon", and nineteen other small plots of Mesnil-sur-Oger, selected by Aimé Salon at the beginning of the 20th century. The wines are kept in the cellar for an average of ten years before revealing their complexity and finesse.
